Basement Piano
The vertical piano in the basement has a heavy, sluggish key response. It forces you to play slower, leaving huge gaps of silence between the chord movements.
That silence is where the room hum sits. You have to capture both.
Tape Bias
Biasing the tape recorder for high-frequency head loops. Standard calibrations assume you want perfect cleanliness, but slightly over-biasing the tape introduces a soft, saturated saturation in the vocals that fits the Latin Noir warmth beautifully.
The tape remains the primary axis of capture.
SAY IT, Selected Cuts
SAY IT exists to accumulate selected lines and eventually become a book, zine, or archive system. No schedule. No social-media rhythm. Entries appear when they are ready.
Quiet Registry
Espectro does not announce. It files. The act of filing is silent, but it is permanent.
We are not a business. We are a register. By numbering each fragment, we turn chaotic experiments into definitive objects.
Held Signal
Tropikill and other early-stage work live here. A 30-second recorded fragment is enough to move from parked to active.
